Clafoutis aux Cerises
- 600g cherries
- 40g melted butter
- 20g butter for the pan
- 4 eggs
- 200ml milk
- 100g flour
- 60g sugar
- 1 sachet of vanilla sugar
- 1 pinch of salt
- icing sugar for decorating
Method
- Serve the Clafoutis warm or cold, sprinkled sparingly with icing sugar.
Preheat the oven at 210 C.
Fast-wash the cherries in cool running water, stem them, and drain. Pit them if NOT going for the traditional consistency and flavor.
In a large bowl, mix the flour, sugar, salt and vanilla sugar.
Slowly add the eggs and then the milk as you continue to mix.
Add the melted butter.
Grease the pan with the rest of the butter.
Add the cherries to the pan and then pour the mixture.
Place in the oven at 210 C for 10 minutes, then lower temperature to 180 C and bake for 20 more minutes.
