Colored Popcorn
- 2 bags popped popcorn
- 140 g butter
- 170 g sugar
- 1 tbs glucose syrup
- 1 tsp food coloring
- 1 tsp baking soda
Method
Add butter, sugar and glucose syrup to a pot and let it melt together, using low heat, whilst stirring. When it is mixed well and starts to thicken add the food coloring. Stir well till the color has been incorporated.
When the mixture reaches around 120-145 degrees, take off the heat and add the baking soda. It will start to foam. Fold the popcorn into the mixture, careful not to burn yourself.
Turn the popcorn out onto the sheets of wax paper and use your spatula or spoon to to break it up.
Place them in the oven at 100 degrees for 15 minutes - then mix it up a bit and do another 15 minutes. Cool and serve.
