Kirsten’s Brosten
- 250 g flour
- 188 g butter
- 125 g sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- Icing
- 1 egg white
- 125 g icing sugar
- Walnut halves
Method
Mix sugar, butter, and egg yolk until smooth.
Add flour and mix until a uniform dough forms.
Roll the dough into a log or sausage shape.
Wrap tightly in plastic film and refrigerate for 1 hour.
Slice the chilled dough into even rounds and place on a baking tray.
Bake at 180 °C for about 8 minutes. Adjust baking time based on color and texture.
When cookies have cooled. Whisk egg white and icing sugar until smooth. Add more icing sugar if needed. Aim for a thick, spreadable texture.
Top each cookie with icing and place half a walnut on top.
