Pommes Frites Sauce
- 200 ml mayonnaise (use a neutral type)
- 1 tbsp sweet mustard (for example French’s Classic Yellow)
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 to 2 tsp vinegar (white wine vinegar or malt vinegar)
- 1 tsp sugar (adjust to taste)
- 1 to 2 tbsp fresh or dried parsley, finely chopped
- Salt to taste
Method
1. Mix mayonnaise, sweet mustard, onion powder, vinegar, and sugar in a bowl until smooth.
2. Stir in the finely chopped parsley.
3. Season with salt to taste.
4. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to let the flavors develop.
Tip
For a more authentic, slightly tangy flavor similar to Bähncke’s, add 1 tbsp very finely chopped pickles.
