Raisin Buns
- 150 g luke warm milk or buttermilk
- 100 g luke warm water
- 25 g yeast
- 75 g butter (liquid, soft or melted)
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 30 g sugar
- 1 egg
- 500 g flour
- 100 g raisins (or 50 g raisins and 50 g walnuts/pecans, chopped)
Method
Mix milk and water, and dissolve the yeast. Add salt, sugar, egg, raisins and flour. Knead till the dough is smooth and shiny.
Cover and let rise for an hour.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface. Cut into equal sized pieces, making sure that the raisins are covered with dough, so as not to burn.
Let rise for 30 minutes.
Bake 15-20 minutes at 180 degrees.
